I often visit historic sites around the UK, and during one trip to Chichester Cathedral, I looked up at the painted mural on the ceiling of the Lady Chapel, which is painted by Lambert Barnard (1485–1567), an English Renaissance painter known for his frescoes.

I was captivated by his nature-inspired designs—swirls of Tudor roses, decorative foliage, and heraldic elements. Inspired by these motifs, I created a repeating pattern, keeping the rustic feeling of the mural.

Chimera Clay colourway is a nod to the original mural, the flowers are coloured a dusty terracotta and the leaves a grey green. 

Serpentine 192 by Mylands is a perfect accent colour.
