About

Steph Le Cocq (pronounced “Le Coke”) is the textile designer and founder behind Studio Le Cocq.

With a background in fashion textiles, her work is rooted in nature and celebrates the intricate details she captures through drawing and painting. With a strong eye for repeat pattern design, she creates thoughtfully crafted and timeless textile designs.

Her debut collection, British Biophilia, launched in 2024 following her return to Somerset. Inspired by the botanical undergrowth of Stockhill Woods and the wildflowers found along local bridleways. The collection reflects a renewed connection with the British landscape and the natural world. When she is not sketching or painting, she can often be found tending her garden or walking the Mendips.

After spending 20 years abroad in New York and Scandinavia, as a successful freelance fashion print designer, Steph returned to the UK and established Studio Le Cocq. During her career, she worked with renowned clients including Bottega Veneta and Cartier, developing the expertise and attention to detail that define her work today. Her design The Lost Garden, a sprawling one-metre repeat with no repeated elements, took over a month to complete.

Studio Le Cocq partners with trusted British wallpaper and fabric manufacturers committed to sustainable production. Using digital printing and natural fibres wherever possible, the studio creates beautifully crafted products while minimising waste through on-demand manufacturing. A percentage of profits is donated to Fauna & Flora International in support of global conservation efforts.

I’ve always felt that garden shows and my work would go well together… and I cannot wait to show at the Royal Horticultural Society’s first Spring festival of the year in Malvern this year! Here’s to being surrounded in Spring flowers and garden inspiration, alongside my latest collections of wallpapers, fabrics and prints. I will have a stand alongside my husband in the Country Living Pavilion, so please do swing by and say hi!
