P is for Peruvian Pelican

Can you notice in this drawing that Pelicans are distinguished from all other birds by having totipalmate feet - all four toes are webbed! The Peruvian pelican and the brown pelican, are the only true marine pelican species. From the time of drawing to adding this print here, their population has increased, moving them into ‘near threatened from vulnerable’. That’s good news!
